In recent years, companies have understood the importance of adapting to a digitized environment that allows them to improve their operations and continue to be competitive in a changing market. This has generated significant growth in the IT sector since the start of the pandemic. All this context, and also depending on the evolution of the current world situation, suggests a growth in hiring of 50% over the next two years, according to data from the Salary Remuneration Study of Technology by PageGroup, a brand specialized in the selection of profiles qualified in IT and digital.

The good growth outlook in this sector is mainly due to the data-driven trend, as companies prioritize information and move towards data-based decision-making. In this sense, it is expected that this trend will have a positive evolution in the next five years.

Salaries will rise 10% this year

The salary trend in the IT sector will also be positive and increases of 10% on average are expected with respect to the previous year. The new remote work model, which has allowed many IT professionals to work for foreign companies with higher salaries; and the shortage of qualified talent due to the high demand for profiles in the sector are some of the reasons that explain the rise in remuneration.

Among the profiles with the highest salary increases, the devops engineer salary as $96,637 per year, with a low of $65K and a high of $140K. The number is based on 3,081 salary profiles submitted to PayScale.
